What is there to look out for in the agenda for Wisdom NA 2023? After three years of virtual events, we are excited to be returning to Florida to host Wisdom North America as an in-person event 21-23rd March 2023.
While we are over two months out from the event, the agenda is already in very good shape. I therefore thought now would be a good time to highlight some of the sessions that caught my eye – and hopefully your eye too.
Here are three sessions which stood out to me so far:
Session: Stand Up, Stand Out and Grow by Beth Kaminski, Dart Container Corporation
When: Tuesday, March 21, 01:30 PM – 02:00 PM
In ITAM we all want to deliver more. As the remit for ITAM has grown and matured, the seniority of the stakeholders we engage with has grown with it. This session is all about obtaining executive support. How does ITAM gain the support of executives so they can grow their role, obtain more budget and deliver more value to the business or client? In the words of Beth herself:
“As SAM practitioners, the goal is to continually grow and mature our programs or practice. Additionally, if you are starting a practice executive support is essential. In the ever-competitive atmosphere of obtaining funds and support to satisfy the technology needs of today’s business environment, how can SAM secure the funds and support to keep moving forward and be relevant. This session will detail some well-known and many lesser considered strategies to gain and grow executive support for SAM.”
Session: It is more than just having the data by Rick Sheffer, Wolters Kluwer
When: Tuesday, March 21, 02:05 PM – 02:35 PM
Responding to an audit is rarely a pleasurable experience. The tactics used by software publishers are often intimidating. It can also be difficult to take an audit as anything other than personal; it’s a test of your knowledge, processes, team etc. Then you have to bring the bad news to your colleagues and senior management. Even if your data is top notch, it is not the only thing to worry about. The whole process can take a toll on your mental health.
In this session, Rick Sheffer, who has responded to well over a dozen audits in the last few years, will talk through everything he does to prepare himself for an audit outside of the data itself. After all, the data isn’t the only thing you need.
“When preparing for a software audit many people focus on the installation and entitlement data. Although that is extremely important, you cannot lose site of the many equally important factors leading up to an audit including your mental preparedness. During this session, I will share with you my personal experiences and some tips and tricks I have learned to be prepared.”
Session: Microsoft Licensing Changes 22/23 with Rich Gibbons, ITAM Review
When: Tuesday, March 21, 01:30 PM – 02:00 PM
Always a popular session, our very own Rich (The Notorious B.I.G of Microsoft licensing) Gibbons, gives you the lowdown on Microsoft’s latest changes this year, of which there have been plenty. And with Microsoft 365 price rises of up to 25% having kicked in from March 2022, and its more recent “price harmonization,” strategy which sought to equalise prices around the world to USD (read: “price rises mk2”), there has never been a better time to ensure you’re up-to-date and fully informed on the latest changes so you can optimise your Microsoft licensing strategy for 2023.
Be sure to visit the Wisdom NA 2023 website for the latest updates on the two-day agenda and to register for your tickets.
