Wisdom 2019 - Sharing our Successes

ITAM Professionals contribute a vast amount of value to their organisations. They cut costs, often in the millions, they reduce risk, and they see off time-consuming audit requests. Modern ITAM teams also improve employee experience by streamlining processes and getting the right software to the right people at the right time. And yet, it seems we’re often not the ones to shout about our achievements. In an effort to change that, we’re launching new stream at Wisdom UK – “Sharing our Successes“.

The Brief

We’re looking for people who can spend 10-15 minutes discussing their successes from any point in their ITAM career;

• What you did
• How you did it
• Why you did it
• What the outcome was
• How it affected your career and standing

Suggested topics

The aim is to have speakers sharing successes in the following categories. This is by no means an exhaustive list – all compelling success stories are welcome.

• Cloud Migration
• Audit Defence
• Hardware Asset Management
• Policy/Procedure Implementation
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Contract Negotiations
• SaaS/IaaS Management
• Licensing Non-Production environments
• Hardware refresh & Build optimisation
• Datacenter Optimisation
• User management – Moves, Adds, Changes
• Publisher-specific stories (Oracle, IBM, SAP, Attachmate, Salesforce and so on)

Speaker Support

In addition to having a great bunch of inspirational stories we also see this as a way of opening up the floor to people who perhaps wouldn’t be willing or able to speak on a subject for a full-length conference session. The sessions will be in the workshop rooms, typically with an audience of less than 40 (unless you’re really popular!) with each speaking slot scheduled to last 15 minutes including questions. Ideally, we’ll group stories together around common themes and potentially run them as panel-style sessions hosted by ITAM Review staff.

If you’ve never spoken publicly before we’re here to help you with content creation, session structure, and scripting – more to come on this in the coming weeks. All the people you see on stage in the main sessions had to start somewhere and we’re really excited by this effort to expand the pool of speakers for our industry.
