ISO/IEC 19770 Adoption by SAM Tool Vendors
During my analysis for the upcoming TOOLS INTELLIGENCE service from The ITAM Review I asked participating SAM vendors about their alignment to the SAM Standard ISO/IEC 19770-1 and -2.
The tools are not being specifically scored against the standard (I will be completing this analysis next year) but I was interested to gauge attitudes towards adoption.
I asked the vendors how their technology aligned itself to the practices outlined in ISO/IEC 19770-1 and -2.
For -2, of the 17 vendors analysed over half either already tracked software ID tags or were in the process of developing the ability to track them.
