This is the 4th “speaker spotlight” article for Wisdom USA 2020 – a chance for you to see some of the fantastic speakers and sessions we’ve got in store for you this next month in St Petersburg, Florida.
Joining me is Wes Lewis, Founder at Look Licensing.
My Life as an Adobe Auditor.
My session is about Adobe’s internal piracy and compliance programs, what they represent, and what we as SAM professionals can learn from them.
I was hired as a SAM Specialist intern at SoftwareONE US as my first job out of college. After spending 5 years with them, I decided to round out my resume with some vendor (Adobe) experience, and even a little big four (Deloitte) experience. After 10 years in the corporate world, I decided in 2019 to start freelancing in the world of SAM and licensing, through my company “Look Licensing”.
I think it would be cool to start seeing SAM and ITAM folks leveraging our own data sets (inventories, and end user behavior) to deliver value back to the business, outside of ITAM. We know what apps users are using, sometimes we even know how much, this can potentially give us insight into how the people at the organization are working, and how we can help them be efficient.
The best is when you can save heaps of cash simply by being clever with the way you’re licensing things.
People going around IT and getting their own subscription to things like Photoshop, and what to do about it.
Deception Point by Dan Brown (I don’t read much).
Max Bemis – Manic/ Bipolar Front-man of the band Say Anything.
