In preparation for the first module of our 12 Box Training Program this week I spoke with Tony Crawley, Managing Director of Synyega and winner of both the ITAM Professional of the Year 2015 and the ITAM Project of the Year 2015.

In this video Tony talks about his experiences communicating effectively with senior management teams about ITAM and maintaining momentum in your ITAM function.

Talking ITAM with the CIO

Key Points from Tony:

  • Take a phased approach; deliver quickly and incrementally with clear, measurable successes
  • Agile – Fail fast, tune and adapt as you go. Regularly communicate your successes.
  • When communicating – Brevity is key and always be talking about the overall trajectory and direction of travel and how it will benefit the business
  • Make messaging relevant to company priorities – aligned to the business and focus on the positives. How can your plans contribute to the CIO’s priorities whether disruptive new technology or simply commercial bottom line
