We are delighted to announce that USU (formerly Aspera) have attained certification status for their solution USU Software Asset Management. It is certified for both Enterprise SAM (formerly as SmartTrack) and Oracle Database License Management (formerly as LicenseControl for Oracle).

USU’s capabilities in these areas are long-standing and customer references obtained during the certification process confirmed their ability to meet the IT Asset Management tool needs of the very largest of companies, including those operating globally. As we noted recently, enterprise-scale organisations are increasingly looking to a platform-based approach to managing IT assets, and USU’s solutions provide this.
USU Software Asset Management can be deployed on premises, or as a hosted service. Flexible inventory and discovery options, including USU’s own solutions, enable customers to bring in data from almost anywhere and then use USU’s normalisation and recognition engines to build rich, accurate, and trustworthy ITAM data. Optimisation and Reporting functionality completes the offering, enabling users to take action on the insights provided by the tools. All customer references reported very strong, continuing ROI from USU’s tools, even several years down the line from initial deployment.
In certifying these products, we also noted some cautions, notably that to get the best from the tools you need knowledgeable ITAM staff who understand both the tool and licensing models. USU are able to assist you through their managed services and consultancy teams who provide support for onboarding and implementation, and then provide ongoing support. References found USU’s product teams to be responsive to their requests in terms of enabling new license requirements to be addressed using the tools. We did also note, however, that technical support, whilst of high quality, can be slow to respond.
Overall, USU’s wealth of experience in working with very large customers means that their products and services are well-placed to enable customers to manage their complex modern IT estates.
